As strange as it may sound, there is no lake in Lake Claire. The name is actually derrived from the intersection of 2 streets; Lakeshore Drive and Claire Drive. This small historic neighborhood sits between Decatur and Candler Park and in many ways it's extension of those as it doesn't have a significant commercial district of its own. Still, it is recognized as a different neighborhood and those who live in Lake Claire take pride in the fact that they live in Lake Claire rather than Candler Park or Decatur.
