Marietta is a very large area and cannot really be described in one short article. At the center of Marietta is the historic Marietta Square. When you visit this town square, you will really feel like you stepped back in time. The square contains the government center for Cobb County as well as many shops and restaurants. The exterior of the historical buildings has been preserved almost identically to the way it was at the turn of last century. Recently, an old historical movie house was renovated to give the city of Marietta its very own Strand Theater which often has some top notch live theatrical performances.
Just off the Marietta Square are homes of many styles and budgets. For the most part, north of the city square boasts the more lavish and larger square footage historic homes. Here, you will find many historic Victorian style homes that many believe to be haunted due to their rich history and preservation.
Many parts of unincorporated Cobb County have taken on Marietta mailing addresses even though they are not officially part of the city of Marietta. It is for this reason that the area we now refer to as Marietta has become some large. To the West, is an area along Dallas Highway called West Cobb which offers some great value for the money on homes. You will be able to get a little more land there than in other parts of Cobb.
